Configuring Telnet sessions

What you can configure

You can configure whether Telnet sessions have a timeout period and how long that timeout period is. By default, Telnet sessions have timeout periods of 60 minutes.

Changing the timeout period

To change the timeout period for Telnet sessions, complete the following step.

Step	Action
1	Enter the following command: options autologout.telnet.timeout minutes minutes is the length of the timeout period.

Disabling the timeout period

To disable the timeout period for Telnet sessions, complete the following step.

Step	Action
1	Enter the following command: options autologout.telnet.enable off

When options command values take effect

A console or Telnet session must be reestablished before any of the following options command values take effect:

autologout.console.enable
autologout.console.timeout
outlogout.telnet.enable
outlogout.telnet.timeout
