About disk shelves

Disk shelves contain disks

A disk shelf contains the disks that store the data that the filer serves.

Disk shelf environmental information

Disk shelves collect information about the presence of disks, fan status, power supply status, and temperature. Disk shelves send messages to the console if parameters exceed permissible operating conditions.

Note
Model FAS250, FAS270, and FAS270c filers combine the filer head or heads and the disk shelf into one unit.
