About restoring the entire filer

You can restore a filer only to disks that you have initialized.

How you restore an entire filer depends on whether you backed up each volume in one backup or as individual directories and qtrees.

If there is one backup for each volume

To restore an entire filer if you used one dump command to back up each volume, complete the following step.

Step	Action
1	Restore each backup.

If each volume was backed up as subtrees or qtrees

To restore an entire filer if you used separate dump commands to back up files, directories, and qtrees that make up each volume, complete the following steps.

Step	Action
1	Create the desired volumes.
2	Restore each backup to the appropriate volume.
