Fibre Channel cabling requirements

Fibre Channel network cables are 50 micron diameter, multimode with LC-to-LC connectors. The supplied cable length is 1m, 5m, or 30m, depending upon your site requirements.

Connecting to a Fibre Channel network

To connect the filer to a Fibre Channel network, complete the following steps.

Note
The dual-port Fibre Channel adapter marked with an "FCP Target" label on the faceplate is a target-mode adapter required for a Fibre Channel network.

Step	Action
1	Push the cable with the LC connector into port 1 on the dual-port Fibre Channel adapter until it clicks and locks into place.
2	If necessary, push a second cable with an LC connector into port 2 of the dual-port Fibre Channel adapter until it clicks and locks into place.
