Replacing the filer chassis

Unplug all cables from the back of the filer, then remove the it from the equipment rack.

Install the replacement chassis in its place. See Installing the filer in a standard equipment rack for installation instructions.

Open the filer, as described in Opening the filer. Make sure both power cords are unplugged from the filer.

Remove the power supplies from the old filer and install them in the new filer, as described in Replacing power supplies.

Remove the disk drives and install them in the new filer, as described in Replacing disk drives.

Remove each expansion adapter from the old filer, and install them in the new filer, as described in Installing or replacing expansion adapters. Make sure each adapter is installed in the correct slots in the new filer.

Reconnect the NICs, terminal cable, and power cables, then turn on the front power switch.

Close the filer, as described in Closing the filer.
