In addition to this guide, your R100 storage system contains the following components:

One chassis and bezel
Seven disk shelves
Rack mounting hardware kit for chassis and disk shelves if the system was purchased without a storage cabinet
A DB-9 to DB-9 straight-through serial cable for an ASCII terminal connection
Seven, 2M SCSI cables for connecting the chassis to the seven disk shelves
A disposable antistatic grounding leash
The appropriate rack installation kit, if you ordered your R100 for rack installation

To install the storage system components in an equipment rack, you need the following tools and equipment:

Phillips screwdrivers (#0, #1, and #2)
#10-32 steel screws for fastening the chassis to the rack
Antistatic wrist strap and grounding leash
Caution
The storage system uses electronic components that are sensitive to static electricity. Static discharge from your clothing or other fixtures around you can damage these components. Always wear an antistatic wrist strap and attach the grounding leash so that you are appropriately grounded before touching any electronic components.

To configure your system, you need the following equipment on site:

ASCII terminal (also referred to as an ANSI terminal)
Serial console
Communications server
Null modem cable (optional if the DB-9 to DB-9 serial cable for an ASCII terminal connection is not compatible with your terminal connector.)
