Understanding the filer's default volume

What the default volume is  Top

The filer contains a default volume that was created when the filer was set up. Unless the installer selected a unique volume name during setup, the default volume is named /vol/vol0.

Note
The /vol portion of the name indicates to the filer that the remainder of the name specifies a volume. The /vol prefix is required whenever a filer volume is referred to from a client or when a volume name is used in a command given to the filer.
