The following sections discuss upgrade issues that you should be aware of if you are upgrading from releases earlier than Data ONTAP 6.3.

Space reservation settings

If you are using space reservations with Data ONTAP 6.3, space reservations on volumes will be ignored when you upgrade to later versions of Data ONTAP. Space reservations will be turned on for all logical unit numbers (LUNs) and virtual local disks (VLDs), but will be left off for all other files.
