Enabling or disabling the vFiler license
Effects of enabling the vFiler license
Enabling the vFiler license has the following effects on the filer:
- You can use the vfiler and ipspace commands.
- Data ONTAP starts logging vFiler status information and sends vFiler status information using the autosupport feature.
- The routed daemon is disabled.
- The ip.match_any_ifaddr option is set to Off.
- The "vFiler limit" (the number of vFilers you can create on this filer, including vFiler0) is set to a default value between 3 and 11, depending on the memory capacity of the hosting filer. You can change this value; see Adjusting the vFiler limit for more information.
Prerequisite for disabling the vFiler license
You can disable the vFiler license only when no vFilers other than vFiler0 are on the filer. If there are vFilers on the filer, you must destroy them before disabling the vFiler license.
Effects of disabling the vFiler license
Disabling the vFiler license has the following effects:
- MultiStore becomes unavailable immediately. You can no longer use the vfiler and ipspace commands.
- The routed daemon is enabled after the next reboot.
