When you specify a path to export to NFS clients or to share with CIFS clients, use the complete path name.
Suppose a vFiler named vFiler1 uses the /vol/vol1 volume for storage. To export the home directory at the root of this volume to the clients of vFiler1, use /vol/vol1/home in the /etc/exports file or in the exportfs command.
Suppose a vFiler named vFiler1 uses the hosting filer's /vol/vol1 volume as its primary storage. To share the entire volume, and all other storage owned by the vFiler, in a single tree, specify "/" as the share path. To offer the home directory at the root of this volume as the home share, specify /home as the path name for the home share. The vFiler mechanism that makes this possible is known as "pseudo-root." See The pseudo-root directory for more information.
