The Manage Initiator Groups page enables you to perform the following procedures:
You can add a new initiator group by clicking the Add option (LUNs > Initiator Groups > Add) on the left side of your FilerView interface or by clicking the Add Initiator Group link on the Manage Initiator Groups page.
To add an initiator group, complete the following steps.
If you are at the Manage Initiator Groups page
rather than at the Add Initiator Group page, go to the Add Initiator Group
page by clicking the Add Initiator Group link.
Result: The Add Initiator Group page is displayed.
In the Group Name field, enter a group name for
the initiator group you are adding.
The group name is case-sensitive and can contain up to 96 alphanumeric
characters. The first character must be a letter. The following special
characters are not allowed in the group name:
Ampersand ( & )
Pound or hash ( # )
Period ( . )
Single quote ( ' )
Double quotes ( " )
Space
Tab
From the Type list, select the type of initiator
group you are adding.
By default, FCP is selected.
Notes:
Select FCP if the initiators in this group are using the Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP).
Select iSCSI if the initiators in this group are using the iSCSI protocol.
From the Operating System list, select the operating
system for the initiator group.
By default, the value Default is selected. The value Default indicates
that the initiator group can contain initiators with different types of
operating systems. However, Network Appliance recommends including initiators
of one type of operating system in a group.
In the Initiators field, enter the node names for the iSCSI initiators and World Wide Port Names (WWPNs) for the FCP initiators.
Notes:
Separate the node names or WWPNs with a comma, space, or new line.
The WWPNs for FCP initiators must be in the following format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
For example:
10:00:00:00:c9:2b:7c:0f
The node names for iSCSI initiators must be in one of the following two formats:
iqn.YYYY-MM.com.netapp.diskarrays
eui.HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, where H is any hexadecimal digit
Click Add.
To modify an existing initiator group, complete the following steps.
If you are at the Manage Initiator Groups page
rather than at the Modify Initiator Group page, go to the Modify Initiator
Group page by clicking the name of the group you want to modify.
Result: The Modify Initiator Group page is displayed.
To add initiators, enter the node name (for iSCSI)
or WWPN (for FCP) of the initiators in the Initiators field.
To delete initiators, select the node name (for iSCSI) or WWPN (for
FCP) of the initiators and press the Delete key on your keyboard. If you
want to force the removal of a mapped initiator, select the Force removal
of mapped initiators checkbox.
Click Apply.
You can view all initiator groups on your filers from the Manage Initiator Groups page.
If you are on any other window and need to view the status and size of LUNs on your filer, click the Manage option (LUNs > Initiator Groups > Manage) on the left side of the FilerView interface.
To delete an existing initiator group, complete the following steps.
If you are at the Manage Initiator Groups page
rather than at the Modify Initiator Group page, go to the Modify Initiator
Group page by clicking the name of the group you want to delete.
