Adding access control to a share

This procedure enables you to add access control entries (ACEs) to the ACL for a share. A share-level ACL consists of a list of ACEs, each ACE containing a user or group name and a set of permissions that determine user or group access to the share.

To add access control entries to a share, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Modify window, click Add Access Control Entry.  A new page is displayed.

  2. In the User/Group field, enter a user name or an existing UNIX group name to be added to this ACL for this share.

NOTE: If the group name contains a space, enclose the name within quotation marks. For example, "Domain Admins".

  1. In the Search UNIX Groups Only field, check the field if you only want to add UNIX groups to constitute a control search.

  2. In the Permissions field, select from the drop-down list the type of permission control you want for this ACL.

  3. Click Apply.
