About managing network interfaces

The Manage Network Interfaces page enables you to manage the various interfaces on the filer.

The specific buttons on this page enable you to accomplish the following tasks:

• Add a New Virtual Interface

This button takes you to the Add Virtual Interface page and enables you to add a virtual interface to the filer.

• Add a New VLAN

If a VLAN-capable interface is detected in the system, this button is displayed and takes you to the Add a New VLAN page.

• Show All Interface Details

This button displays all the detailed information about each interface. When all details are being displayed, this button changes to Hide Interface Details.

• Modify

This button takes you to the Modify Interfaces page and enables you to manage the various interfaces on the filer.

• Up - Down

These buttons enable you to take an interface down or, if the interface is down, to bring the interface up.

• Remove VLAN

This button, if displayed, enables you to remove a VLAN from an interface. This button is displayed only if an interface on the filer has VLAN added to it.
