The SnapMirror Configuration page enables you to configure the SnapMirror for the license code and to enable IP checking.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites must be met before you can replicate a volume or qtree:

• You must purchase the SnapMirror license. If the source and the mirror are on different filers, you must purchase a license and enter the SnapMirror license code for each filer using the license command on the command line.

• You must create an offline volume to be used as the mirror. SnapMirror does not automatically create a volume.

• The source volume and the mirror volume must be of the same volume type. For example, if the source is a traditional volume, the volume you create to be its mirror must be another traditional volume.

• The source volume must be online.

• If the source is a qtree, it must not be a mirror.

• The capacity of the mirror must be greater than or equal to the capacity of the source volume. The configuration of the volumes, however, can be different.

• The mirror must not be the root volume.
