Connecting your gateway to another gateway in a cluster

Connecting the GF900 series or GF825 in a cluster  Top

To connect the GF900 series or GF825 in a cluster, complete the following steps, using the figure for reference.

Note
The GF270c is a self-contained clustered unit only supported in a cluster-attached configuration. See Connecting a clustered GF270c for more information.

The following figure shows a GF825 gateway in a clustered configuration with only one cable connected.

Note
You must always verify the correct slot assignment for your cluster adapter in your gateway. For slot assignment information, see the System Configuration Guide at http://now.netapp.com.

Step

Action

1

Verify that you have the correct cable for your cluster adapter.

2

For redundancy, cable both ports on each cluster adapter. Cable the cluster adapters by connecting port 1 with port 1, then port 2 with port 2.

3

Gently pull on the cable ends to ensure that they are properly seated.
