Verifying the RMC connections and setup

Enter the following command:

rmc setup

Note
It might take a few minutes for the new network settings for the RMC to take effect.

Enter the following command to verify the connection from the gateway to the RMC interface:

ping rmc interface

rmc interface is the IP address of the RMC.

If Autosupport is to be used in your organization, verify that Autosupport is enabled and Autosupport options are valid by entering the following command:

options autosupport

Result

The Autosupport options are listed similarly to the following:

autosupport.enable on

autosupport.support.enable on

autosupport.mailhost name or IP address of mailhost

To test RMC mail delivery, enter the following command:

rmc test email TESTMSG

Result

The RMC should send e-mail within a few minutes. If this fails, verify gateway connectivity and whether the mail host is valid.
