The NetApp® gFiler gateway is a storage consolidation solution that provides unified NAS and SAN access to data stored in Fibre Channel SAN storage arrays. The gFiler is an industry-standard NAS gateway that provides file-level and block-level access to data stored in Fibre Channel storage subsystems through client systems and application servers on an IP network. Like all NetApp storage appliances, the gFiler gateway is based on the Data ONTAP operating system that supports multiprotocol file services and advanced data management capabilities for consolidating, protecting, and recovering mission-critical data for applications and users.
