Connectivity overview

The following information is for a direct-attached stand-alone configuration of 256 LUNs or fewer. The illustration and table show the number of ports and cable connections required.

Notes to the illustration:

All connected ports on a gFiler have access to all LUNs for that gFiler. The minimum number of ports are included in the illustration.
For this configuration, only two ports are required on the storage subsystem, one for the primary connection and one for the secondary connection. The reason is that a single port on the storage subsystem can handle the number of LUNs in this configuration. (See Storage subsystem port support, by model.)
