Connectivity overview

The following information is for a switch-attached stand-alone configuration of 256 LUNs or fewer. The illustration and table show the number of ports and cable connections required.

Notes to the illustration:

All connected ports on a gFiler have access to all LUNs for that gFiler. The minimum number of ports are included in the illustration.
All LUNs can be mapped to one redundant port pair, one for the primary connection and one for the secondary connection.

The following table summarizes the port-to-port connectivity scheme for the previous illustration of up to 256 LUNs.

The primary and secondary connection paths between the gFiler and storage subsystem, through the switches, provide redundancy.
