Managing igroups
Tasks to manage igroups
You can use the command-line interface or FilerView to
- Create igroups
- Destroy igroups
- Add initiators (through their node names) to igroups
- Remove initiators (through their node names) from igroups
- Display all the initiators in an igroup
- Set the operating system type (ostype) for an igroup
Creating an igroup
To create an igroup, complete the following step.
Step
|
Action
|
|
1
|
Enter the following command:
igroup create -i [-t ostype] initiator_group [nodename ...]
-i indicates that it is an iSCSI igroup.
-t ostype indicates the operating system of the host. The values are default, solaris, windows, hpux, aix, or linux. Use default if you are using another operating system.
initiator_group is the name of the igroup you specify.
nodename is an iSCSI nodename. You can specify more than one nodename.
Example
igroup create -i -t windows win-group0 iqn.1991-05.com.microsoft:eng1
Result
You created an igroup called win-group0 that contains the nodename of the Windows host associated with that nodename.

Destroying an igroup

Enter the following command:
igroup add igroup nodename
Caution When adding initiators to an igroup, ensure that each initiator sees, at most, one LUN at a given LUN ID.
Example
igroup add win-group2 iqn.1991-05.com.microsoft:eng2
Result
You added the host associated with node name iqn.1991-05.com.microsoft:eng2 to the initiator group win-group2.
