If a user does not have a file opened on your storage system, the session is considered idle. By default, Data ONTAP disconnects a session after it has been idle for 30 minutes. You can specify the amount of time that elapses (in seconds) before Data ONTAP disconnects an idle session.
If an idle session is disconnected, it will automatically reconnect the next time the client accesses the storage system.
Complete the following step to specify the amount of idle time that elapses before Data ONTAP disconnects a session.
