Copies the specified aggregate and its FlexVol volumes to a different aggregate on a new set of disks.

See the Data Protection Online Backup and Recovery Guide.

vol copy start src_vol dest_vol

Copies the specified source volume and its data content to a destination volume on a new set of disks. The source and destination volumes must be of the same type (either a FlexVol volume or a traditional volume).

Creating an aggregate

aggr create aggr
[-f] [-m] [-n]
[-t raidtype]
[-r raidsize]
[-T disk-type]
[-R rpm]
[-L] {ndisks[@size] | -d disk1 [disk2 ...] [-d diskn [diskn+1 ... ]]}

Creates a physical aggregate of disks, within which FlexVol volumes can be created.

See Creating aggregates.

Not applicable.

See creating a volume.

Creating a volume

Not applicable.

vol create flex_vol
[-l language_code]
[-s none | file | volume] aggr size

Creates a FlexVol volume within the specified containing aggregate.

See Creating FlexVol volumes.

aggr create trad_vol
-v
[-l language_code]
[-f] [-n] [-m] [-L]
[-t raidtype]
[-r raidsize] [-R rpm] {ndisks@size] |
-d disk1 [disk2 ...] [-d diskn [diskn+1 ... ]]}

Creates a traditional volume and defines a set of disks to include in that volume.

See Creating traditional volumes.

Creating a FlexClone

Not applicable.

vol clone create
flex_vol clone_vol

Creates a clone of the specified FlexVol volume.

See Cloning FlexVol volumes.

Not applicable.

Creating a SnapLock volume

aggr create aggr -L
disk-list

See the Data Protection Online Recovery and Backup Guide.

FlexVol volumes inherit the SnapLock attribute from their containing aggregate.

See the Data Protection Online Recovery and Backup Guide.

aggr create trad_vol
-v -L disk-list

See the Data Protection Online Recovery and Backup Guide.

Creating a SyncMirror replica

aggr mirror

Creates a SyncMirror replica of the specified aggregate.

See the Data Protection Online Backup and Recovery Guide.

Not applicable.

aggr mirror

Creates a SyncMirror replica of the specified traditional volume.

See the Data Protection Online Backup and Recovery Guide.

Destroying aggregates and volumes

aggr destroy aggr

Destroys the specified aggregate and returns that aggregate's disks to the storage system's pool of hot spare disks.

See Destroying aggregates.

vol destroy flex_vol

Destroys the specified FlexVol volume and returns space to its containing aggregate.

See Destroying volumes.

aggr destroy trad_vol

Destroys the specified traditional volume and returns that volume's disks to the storage system's pool of hot spare disks

See Destroying volumes.

Displaying the containing aggregate

Not applicable.

vol container flex_vol

Displays the containing aggregate of the specified FlexVol volume.

See Displaying a FlexVol volume's containing aggregate.

Not applicable.

Displaying the language code

Not applicable

vol lang [vol]

Displays the volume's language.

See Changing the language for a volume.

Displaying a media-level scrub

aggr media_scrub
status [aggr]

Displays media error scrubbing of disks in the aggregate.

See Continuous media scrub

Not applicable.

aggr media_scrub
status [aggr]

Displays media error scrubbing of disks in the traditional volume.

See Continuous media scrub.

Displaying the status

aggr status [aggr]

Displays the offline, restricted, or online status of the specified aggregate. Online status is further defined by RAID state, reconstruction, or mirroring conditions.

See Changing the state of an aggregate.

vol status [vol]

Displays the offline, restricted, or online status of the specified volume, and the RAID state of its containing aggregate.

See Determining volume status and state.

aggr status [vol]

aggr scrub suspend
aggr scrub stop
aggr scrub resume
aggr scrub status

Manages RAID-level error scrubbing of disks of the aggregate.

See Automatic and manual disk scrubs.

Not applicable.

Configuring volume-level options  Top

The following table provides an overview of the options you can use to configure your aggregates, FlexVol volumes and traditional volumes.

Note
The option subcommands you execute remain in effect after the storage system is rebooted, so you do not have to add aggr options or vol options commands to the /etc/rc file.
