Viewing information

Commands you use to view information  Top

You can use the environment, storage show, and sysconfig commands to view information about the following storage subsystem components connected to your storage system. The components you can view status about with FilerView are also noted.

The following table provides a brief description of the subsystem component commands. For detailed information about these commands and their options, see the na_environment(1), na_storage(1), and na_sysconfig(1) man pages on the storage system.

Note
The options alias and unalias for the storage command are discussed in detail in the Data Protection Guide Tape Backup and Recovery Guide.

Data ONTAP command

To display information about...

environment shelf

Environmental information for each host adapter, including SES configuration, SES path.

environment shelf_log

Shelf-specific module log file information, for shelves that support this feature. Log information is sent to the /etc/log/shelflog directory and included as an attachment on AutoSupport reports.

storage show adapter

Host adapter attributes, including a description, firmware revision level, PCI bus width, PCI clock speed, FC node name, cacheline size, FC packet size, link data rate, SRAM parity, external GIC, state, in use, redundant.

storage show hub

Hub attributes: hub name, channel, loop, shelf ID, shelf UID, term switch, shelf state, ESH state, and hub activity per disk ID: loop up count, invalid CRC count, invalid word count, clock delta, insert count, stall count, util.

storage show mc

All media changer devices that are installed in the system.

storage show tape

All tape drive devices that are installed in the system.

storage show tape supported [-v]

All tape drives supported. With -v, information about density and compressions settings is also displayed.

sysconfig -A

All sysconfig reports, including configuration errors, disk drives, media changers, RAID details, tape devices, and aggregates.

sysconfig -m

Tape libraries.

sysconfig -t

Tape drives.
