Restoring using a remote tape drive

Storage system restore using a tape drive attached to a remote storage system

dump 0f netapp1:rst0a /vol/vol1

restore rf netapp1:rst0a

This command performs a restore from a tape drive attached to a remote storage system named netapp1. The tape drive then rewinds the tape.

The elements of this command line are described in the following table.

Element	Meaning
`r`	Do a full restore.
`f`	A tape device is supplied in the command line.
`netapp1`	This is the storage system name.
`rst0a`	The restore is done using the `rst0a` tape device.

dump 0f ritchie:/dev/rmt/0 /vol/vol1

restore rf ritchie:/dev/rmt/0

This command performs a restore from a tape drive on a Solaris system.
