Data ONTAP versions supported

To determine whether your storage system supports Data ONTAP 7.1, complete the following steps.

Step	Action
1	Use a Web browser to go to http://now.netapp.com/.
2	Click Service & Support.
3	Click Download Software.
4	In the Select Platform list box in the Data ONTAP product row, select your storage system type.
5	Click Go. Result You see a list of the versions of Data ONTAP supported by your storage system platform. If Data ONTAP 7.1 is listed as a release for your storage system, you can upgrade to it.

To view system firmware versions available for your storage systems, complete the following steps.

Note
F87 storage systems use firmware that does not need to be upgraded.

Step	Action
1	Use a Web browser to go to http://now.netapp.com/.
2	Click Service & Support.
3	Click Download Software.
4	Scroll down to Firmware & MIBs.
5	If you are upgrading ...	Then...
	A CompactFlash®-based storage system	Click System Firmware/Diagnostics for CompactFlash-based Filers, gFilers, & NearStores.
	A diskette-based storage system	Click System Firmware for Filers & NetCache.

To view the latest required firmware revisions for Fibre Channel disk drives, complete the following steps.

Use a Web browser to go to http://now.netapp.com/.

Click Service & Support.

Click Disk Support Matrix & Firmware.

The Disk Drive & Firmware matrix appears, where you can click the link to the firmware revision needed for your drives.
