AutoSupport and syslogd messages about a vFiler unit

About AutoSupport messages  Top

A storage system licensed for a vFiler unit includes the output of the vfiler status command in the AutoSupport messages.

About syslogd messages  Top

The output of the vfiler status command, which indicates whether the vFiler units are stopped or running, is logged in the /etc/messages file on the hosting storage system.

All messages generated by vFiler units are logged to the hosting storage system's /etc/messages file. These messages are preceded with the name of the vFiler unit. For example, if the vFiler unit named vFiler1 exceeds a quota threshold, the following message is generated:

[vfiler1@quota.softlimit.exceeded:notice]: Threshold exceeded for
tree 3 on volume vol1 for vfiler "vfiler1"
