Note: This topic describes changes in this release that are specific to FilerView. For general changes in this release of Data ONTAP, see the Data ONTAP Release Notes.
FilerView changes since the previous release of Data ONTAP include the following:
Support for New iSCSI Administration Model in Data ONTAP
The new iSCSI administration model in Data ONTAP 7.1 accommodates the new iSCSI target HBA, supports multi-connection iSCSI sessions and supports the new iSCSI target alias feature. For details, see the Data ONTAP Block Access Management Guide for iSCSI.
In keeping with support for the new iSCSI administration model, the iSCSI branch of FilerView has been redesigned to help you perform the following tasks:
View iSCSI status, filer-wide statistics, and portal information
Change the iSCSI node name or target alias of the filer
Enable or disable iSCSI interfaces
View target portal group information
Create or modify user-defined target portal groups to facilitate multi-connection sessions spanning multiple interfaces
Specify which security method should be used by SCSI initiators accessing the filer
View information about portals exported by the filer
View information about initiators that are logged in, including detailed information on the initiator sessions.
