Add Initiator Group |
The Add Initiator Group page enables you to add (create) initiator groups on your filer.
When you create an initiator group, you need to specify the following information:
A case-sensitive name that meets the following requirements:
Contains 1 to 96 alphanumeric characters
Can contain any special characters except &, #, -, `, ", blank, or tab
Note: You might find it useful to provide meaningful names for initiator groups, ones that describe the hosts that can access the LUNs mapped to them. However, the name you assign to an initiator group is independent of the name of the host. If you name an initiator group sun-1, for example, it is not mapped to the actual IP host name (DNS name) of the host.
The type of initiator group (FCP if it contains WWPNs, iSCSI if it does not)
Note: An initiator group can contain only one type of node, either FCP or iSCSI nodes.
The operating system of the initiator
The unique identifier of each initiator in the group (FCP WWPN or iSCSI node name)
