Manage vFilers |
The Manage vFilers page enables you to perform the following procedures:
Starting and stopping a vFiler:
You stop a vFiler if you need to troubleshoot vFiler problems or destroy a vFiler.
You can start a vFiler that is stopped; after a vFiler starts, it is in running state and can receive packets from clients.
Note: You cannot stop or start vFiler0.
To start and stop a vFiler, complete the following steps.
Select the check box next to the vFiler you want to stop or start.
Click Start or Stop.
Destroying a vFiler has the following effects:
All resources that are associated with the vFiler are released. User data contained in the vFiler remains intact after you destroy the vFiler.
If the vFiler destroyed was in a different IPspace than the hosting filer, the IP addresses previously owned by the vFiler are not available for use after you destroy the vFiler.
The vFiler must meet these prerequisites before you can destroy it:
The vFiler must be in the stopped state.
The IP addresses used by the vFiler must be unconfigured.
To destroy a vFiler, complete the following steps.
Select the check box next to the vFiler you want to destroy.
Click Destroy.
To make changes to an existing vFiler, complete the following steps.
From the list of vFiler units, locate the name
of the vFiler you want to modify and click on it.
Result: The vFiler Wizard is launched in a new window.
Follow the prompts in the Wizard to make the appropriate changes.
