The Direct Access File System (DAFS) protocol defines a set of file access and management operations similar to Network File System (NFSv4), but optimized for the local file-sharing and clustered environments.
The filer requires a software license to enable DAFS services. You are provided with the appropriate license codes when your filer or software is shipped from the factory or when you are given instructions for obtaining the software over the Internet.
