Syslog Messages (/etc/messages) |
The Syslog Messages page displays information and error messages that the filer displays on the console and logs in the /etc/messages file.
To specify the types of messages that the filer logs, use the Syslog Configuration page to edit the /etc/syslog.conf file. This file specifies which types of messages are logged by the syslogd daemon. By default, messages of priority information and higher are logged.
Note: If a message includes a hyperlink, click the link to go to the NOW site's Syslog Translator for a detailed definition of the triggering event.
You should check this page at least once a day to see whether there are error conditions that require your attention.
