Selections on the menu bar

The menu bar (the main menu bar) enables you to create, configure, and modify of all of the ContentDirector components except the Transport Group. It provides access to drop down menus.

The menu bar contains the following items:

The File menu provides access to the Preferences dialog, enables you to log out and log in as another user, or exit the program.
The View menu of the menu bar provides a means of changing the View displayed in the View panel. See the illustration below.
The Users menu enables you to manage users, user Groups, and Domains.
The Jobs menu provides access to job related functionality. this includes defining and running jobs.
The Sources menu enables you to create, modify, and delete sources.
The Destinations menu enables you to delete destination devices and to create, modify, and delete content groups.
The Policies menu enables you to create, modify, and delete policies.
The Tools menu enables you to manage e-mail contacts, set the browser path and file, and generate a new master key.
The Help menu opens on-line help and displays the ContentDirector license key, build number, and serial number.

Selections on the toolbar

You use the items on the toolbar to create new job components and initiate operations related to a selected job. It also contains a button for creating a new user.

The toolbar contains the following icons:

User: creates new users
This button enables you to the create of new users, but not domains or user groups.
Job: creates new jobs
Policy: creates new policies
Group (Destination): creates new destination groups
Refresh: refreshes the data in the fields or tree nodes of the selected view
Abort: aborts the selected job if it is currently running
History: displays the history of job assignments of the selected job
Run: runs the selected job manually
Help: opens on-line help
