Resources in the management console

User-defined resources  

The management console enables you to control ContentDirector by defining the following resources:

• Users and user rights: access control over ContentDirector resources
• Policies and jobs: distribution rules that define what, where, when, and how content is moved
• Sources: source locations for content
• Destination groups: multiple destinations that receive the same content

Auto-discovered resources  

When ContentDirector first starts, it contains the following resources:

• Transport group leaders and group members that are auto-discovered on your network
• Default policy for distributing content
• Default user domain (container for user rights)
• Default system administrator

You create all other resources through the management console.
