About user rights

ContentDirector 2.0 offers a comprehensive user rights scheme that allows multiple, secure domains within a single installation of ContentDirector. Each domain contains its own distinct, multilayered set of user rules. These rules create a virtual interface to your physical network: rather than displaying all content, resources, and options, it filters them through user rights and displays only those available to the current user.

Advantages of user rights

With this user rights scheme, ContentDirector can distribute content for several companies using a single shared installation:

A service provider can create separate domains for each company, each domain restricted to the company's resources.
The owner company uses the domain to create and manage its own user rights, resources, and content.
Within the company domain, smaller groups of users and their resources can also define mutually invisible, secure environments.

ContentDirector user rights are both highly customizable and flexible:

Different users can have widely varying levels of access to the various resources of the system. You can make resources available to some users and not to others.
User groups define user rights, so that multiple users can conveniently share the same rights.
You can assign user rights for a specific resource at the time of its creation.
