Starting ContentReporter

About starting the product  Top

As a reporting user, you will most likely be starting ContentReporter from a web browser on a machine that has HTTP access to the machine where the ContentReporter server is installed. The first time you run ContentReporter, you need to know the IP address or machine name of the ContentReporter Server.

To log into ContentReporter the first time, complete the following steps.

You want to log into ContentReporter from the ContentReporter Server machine.

Double-click the ContentReporter icon on your desktop, (or click Start > Programs > Network Appliance > ContentReporter 3.0 > ContentReporter 3.0 Login).

Result:

The Login window appears.

You want to log into ContentReporter from a machine that has HTTP access to ContentReporter server machine.

Launch your Web browser, and browse to: http://servername:7777/ContentReporter/index.html (the server name or IP address is of the machine where the installed ContentReporter Server is installed. 7777 is the ContentReporter-specific port).

Result:

The Login window appears.

Note
If you use the machine name instead of the IP Address, you might have to modify your system's DNS settings to resolve the server name to the correct IP address.

Enter your username and password. Click on OK.
Result

Your home page is displayed.
