Learning about the login user account

When you need to assign an account  Top

You need to assign the ContentReporter service a login user account with access to network resources if you collect or import log files from, or store collected log files on, a mapped drive.

About the login user account  Top

By default, the ContentReporter service uses the Local System Account, and automatically starts when the system starts up. This Local System Account enables ContentReporter to collect and store log files on the ContentReporter server machine. If you want ContentReporter to collect, process, and store log files on mapped or network drives, you should consider assigning a user account to the ContentReporter service, since the account must have access to mapped drives in one or more domains, and must be always logged into the ContentReporter server machine when ContentReporter is running.
