Configuring NetCache appliance log file collection

Enabling SNMP and using Auto Discovery

Reason to enable SNMP  Top

If you want to collect log files from several NetCache appliances, you may want to use the Auto Discovery feature of the ContentReporter server. The Auto Discovery feature enables you to quickly and easily add multiple NetCache appliances to a cache group at one time. In order to use the Auto Discovery feature, you must enable Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for each NetCache appliance. You must also identify a community string name that the ContentReporter server can use to identify each NetCache appliance through Auto Discovery.
