The software data recovery tool can be used under special circumstances to restore encrypted data when a DataFort is not available.
The Data Decryption Software is a standalone application installed separately from Lifetime Key Management (LKM) software. It can be installed and used on an LKM server or on a separate computer (running Windows or Linux) that has access to the encrypted data that needs to be restored. The smart card reader is not required for running Data Decryption Software.

- Click the Windows link to start the installer.
- Accept the license agreement and choose the default options.
- After the software has been installed, the Programs > Decru menu on the Windows Start Menu displays a new Data Decryption Software entry.
