POST error messages

POST error messages  Top

The following table describes the POST error messages that might appear on the system console of the appliance, if the system encounters environmental, CMOS, or CPU errors during the POST process.

Note
Always power cycle the appliance when you receive any of the following errors. If the system repeats the error message, follow the corrective action for that error message. Also, if any Processor 2 error messages are displayed, power cycle the system. If the error message persists, replace the motherboard, as described in Replacing the motherboard.

*SHUTDOWN FOR ENV. ISSUES

An environmental event caused the system to shut down. Possible events are as follows:

  • A power supply fan failed or is running slowly.
  • Two of the four fans in the system either stopped or are running slowly.
  • The appliance reached a critical temperature and is too hot.
  • A power voltage line is in a critical state and not functioning properly.
