Interpreting motherboard LEDs  Top

There are four LEDs at the rear of the motherboard that are visible through the back vents of the appliance or by removing the cover and looking under the NIC riser. These LEDs turn on or off and reflect POST errors generated during the POST portion of the boot sequence.

Corrective action for the motherboard LEDs is a two-step procedure, listed in the following table.

Step

Action

1

Call Network Appliance Customer Support and describe the LED error sequence.

2

If Customer Support corrective actions...

Then...

Do not require replacing the motherboard

Follow the instructions the Customer Support representative gives you.

Requires replacing the motherboard

Replace the motherboard, as described in Replacing the motherboard.

The following figure and table shows and describes these LEDs.
