Connecting the C3100/C6100 to AC power

Make sure that the power switch on each power supply is in the Off (0) position.

Connect the socket end of the supplied power cord to the recessed power plug on the power supply.

Secure the power cord with the retaining clip on the power supply.

Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

If the C3100/C6100 has a second power supply, repeat Steps 1 through 4.

Caution
To obtain power supply redundancy, you must connect the second power supply to a separate AC circuit.

Turn the power switch on the power supplies to the On (l) position.

Result

The system verifies the C3100/C6100 hardware and loads the operating system.

Make sure that the following LEDs illuminate:

• Front panel LEDs
• Power supply LEDs
• Network port LEDs

The LED responses are described in LED responses at startup.

Note
If the LEDs do not illuminate, contact Network Appliance Technical Support.

Check the startup messages as they appear on the console or LCD.
