NetCache provides several error messages, derived from HTTP 1.1 error codes, that you can customize for your organization. For example, default error message text that NetCache supplies instructs the user to contact the administrator. You might want to modify the error text to include the name and telephone number of the administrator.
Customizable error messages apply to HTTP and to FTP over HTTP.
The error messages described in this chapter appear in the following locations:
Most error messages appear in the Web browser. Under certain circumstances (when proxy authentication is required, for example) the error message is written to the Web access log, and an on-screen dialog box prompts the user for a valid user name and password.
