Chapter 13

Hierarchies

About this chapter  Top

This chapter discusses the NetCache hierarchy feature and how the NetCache appliance handles requests it cannot resolve. The hierarchy feature allows you to configure NetCache appliances, third-party proxy-cache servers, and firewalls to work together to load balance requests, distribute content, or provide backup and failover capability for your network. The hierarchy feature is flexible, and it enables you to create simple to complex schemes.
