About DataFabric Manager

DataFabric Manager is a standalone Network Appliance software product designed to simplify management of all Network Appliance storage devices. DataFabric Manager provides remote, centralized management of Network Appliance data storage infrastructures, including global enterprise, storage network, and CDN deployments. DataFabric Manager's integrated appliance management system enables IT staff to centrally monitor and remotely configure both filers and NetCache appliances.

Essentially, DataFabric Manager is a suite of tools that runs on a management server and consolidates tasks that would otherwise require separate operations. DataFabric Manager can be managed using the comprehensive user interface or the CLI.

How you can use DataFabric Manager

In addition to using DataFabric Manager to configure multiple, remote NetCache appliances, you can also use it to

Alert you when an appliance reaches a certain threshold or state
Monitor appliance statistics and health
Track discovery of new hosts and notify users through an event
Group objects so that you can monitor and administer objects as a group or only a specific object, as appropriate
Track data over time to help you troubleshoot problems and anticipate future needs by providing
- Graphs that contain historical data and trends
- Reports that show that if usage of a specific volume increases at the current rate, it will be full in a certain number of days
Send a command to one or more appliances
Remotely update NetCache software (but not add-on software, such as SecureAdmin^TM software) on one or more NetCache appliances
