About restricting interfaces for connecting to servers
About the Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option
You can use the Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option to specify the interfaces that NetCache is not to use when connecting to servers.
Disable outgoing interfaces in the following circumstances:
- You want to devote an interface for administrative purposes instead of using it for regular traffic.
- One interface of a NetCache appliance is outside a firewall and another interface is inside the firewall. Typically, you do not want to use the interface inside the firewall for traffic to outside servers.
- You have more interfaces than you want to use for outbound traffic.
Restrictions for using this option are as follows:
- Do not list any interfaces in this option that you list in the Load Balancing Interfaces option.
- You cannot use the Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option if your NetCache appliance is part of a takeover pair.
The Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option is on the Network - General page (Setup tab > Network > General).
