About the NetCache MIB

Information contained in the MIB  Top

The NetApp custom MIB provides detailed information about many aspects of NetCache appliance operation.

Where to obtain the MIB  Top

You can obtain the custom MIB from the NetCache CD-ROM or from the NOW Web page at http://now.netapp.com/ (perform a search for MIB). To locate the MIB on the CD-ROM, read the index.htm file in the top-level directory of the CD-ROM. You will need to install the MIB file on your network management station.

Ensuring that your workstation can obtain information about MIB objects  Top

When you configure the basic SNMP options in the Appliance Manager, you provide the IP addresses or host names of up to eight trap hosts (network management workstations). You must install the NetCache MIB file on each of those trap hosts to ensure that each host can obtain information from the NetCache appliance about the objects that are part of the MIB. Follow the installation procedure included in your workstation documentation.
