NetCache provides detailed messages about errors it detects and information about how to resolve the problem that caused the error to occur. If you do not want end users to be aware that a Web cache is being used, you can suppress NetCache messages and instead display more generic, less detailed Web browser messages. Hiding the existence of a Web cache is sometimes referred to as running in stealth mode.
If you want to hide NetCache error messages, you can configure NetCache for stealth mode. If stealth mode is enabled, the browser provides the error message. The error message that is displayed is browser-specific. Users of a particular browser will always see the same message, no matter what the error condition.
Stealth mode is enabled by the "Do Not Report Errors to Selected Clients" option on the HTTP - General page. To access this page, select Setup tab > HTTP > General. See the Appliance Manager online Help for stealth mode configuration information.
Note
Stealth mode can be used for both transparent and nontransparent proxying of HTTP requests.
