After you have completed the GRM testing procedures described in Verifying the GRM network, you should test GRM from the client browser to ensure that clients are redirected to the correct center or edge caches. The results of these tests should be identical to the test results obtained previously.
To test GRM functionality for CDN clients, you must test the same GRM functionality described in Verifying the GRM network. However, in this case, you use a client browser to verify GRM functionality.
Complete the following tests:
Access a client browser from within an edge group and request content from a domain controlled by the GRM server. Use the GRM server access log to verify that the IP addresses of one or more edge caches in the edge group were returned. For information about using the GRM server access log, see Using the GRM server access log for test verification.
Access a client browser that is not in an edge group and request content from a domain controlled by the GRM server. Use the GRM server access log to verify that the IP addresses of one or more of the closest center caches were returned.
Halt all edge caches and access a client browser from within an edge group. (Ensure that the client browser supports failover.) Request content from a domain controlled by the GRM server, and use the GRM server access log to verify that the IP addresses of one or more center caches were returned.
