Troubleshooting network interfaces

Use the ifconfig command for troubleshooting  Top

When you are troubleshooting an appliance, you can use the ifconfig command to perform common interface configuration. See the na_ifconfig man page for more information.

Caution
Configuration changes made using the ifconfig command do not persist after a system reboot. To make changes persistent across a system reboot, use the ifconfig -set command.

Recovering from loss of connectivity to the appliance  Top

If you bring down the administrative interface or all network interfaces, you can recover in one of the following ways:

If you have a backup configuration file

From the command line at the console, use the config -rl command to revert to a backup copy of the appliance configuration.

If you do not have a backup configuration file

Use the ifconfig command from the command line at the console to bring up an interface. Then use the Appliance Manager to bring up and, if necessary, reconfigure the other network interfaces.
