Restricting interfaces for connecting to servers

About the Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option  

The Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option specifies interfaces that the appliance never uses when connecting to servers. Do not list the interfaces in this option that are listed in the Load Balancing Interfaces option.

Disable outgoing interfaces in the following circumstances:

• If you want to devote an interface for administrative purposes instead of using it for regular traffic.
• If one interface of an appliance is outside a firewall and another interface is inside the firewall, typically, you do not want to use the interface inside the firewall for traffic to outside servers.

  Note
  You cannot use the Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option if your appliance is part of a takeover pair.

Option location

The Disabled Outgoing Interfaces option is on the Network - General page (Setup tab > Network > General).
